Review : S/O Satyamurthy – A Tribute to Fathers
After the successful ride of his last venture “Race Gurram”, Stylish
Star Allu Arjun is back with his latest film, “S/o Satyamurthy”. The
movie has already created a lot of hype and anxiety among the audience.
This is for the second time that Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas are
coming together after their movie “Julai” which was also a blockbuster
at the box-office. All mega family fans were eagerly waiting to know
about the story of the film and Allu Arjun’s role in it. Amidst lot of
expectations, the movie has been released on 9th April in over 1,300
screens worldwide. Lets see whether Satyamurthy and his Son reached the
expectations of the audience or not ……!Story :
Satyamurthy (Prakash Raj) is a kind-hearted rich man with principles, who helps people around him. Viraj Anand (Allu Arjun) is his son, who lives a carefree life in foreign. His world shatters when his father Satyamurthy passes away in an unfortunate accident, leaving behind huge debt. Due to this, the family responsibility falls on Viraj. He becomes a wedding planner to clears his father’s debt. He
meets Sameera aka Subbalakshmi (Samantha) at an event and falls in love with her. But when he meets her father (Rajendra Prasad), the latter assigns him the task of bringing some disputed land documents from a factional leader Devaraj (Upendra), if he wants to marry his daughter. Here the story takes an interesting twist ! What Viraj has done to win his love ? How Viraj restores the name and fame of his family ? What is the twist in the tale ? How are the other Heroines Nithya Menon and Adah Sharma connected to Allu Arjun ? All these form the crux of the story.
Positives :
* Allu Arjun steals the show with his energetic performance and good comedy timing. He carries off both comic and action sequences with ease.
* Samantha as the Love Interest of Allu Arjun is good enough and has become the cynosure in the film.
* Nithya Menon shines in a brief, but a very important role.
* Adah Sharma looked cute and gorgeous in the movie.
* Rajendra Prasad produces good entertainment with his mannerisms and comic timing along with Brahmanandam, especially in the second half.
* Kota Srinivas Rao, Rao Ramesh and MS Narayana have done justice to their roles.
* Kannada star Upendra suited the character well, supported by Sneha.
* Few emotional scenes in the climax have been portrayed very well.
Negatives :
* Slow narration mainly in the first half is the major negative aspect of the film.
* Improper use of the star cast. They have not been utilized properly especially Vennela Kishore has been wasted in a meaningless role.
* Even though the songs are good, their placement spoiled the flow of the film.
Technical Aspects :
* Trivikram Srinivas has put all his knowledge in creating characters and writing dialogues. He added loads of entertainment and right sentiment in key scenes.
* The Music and Cinematography are the main highlights on the technical front.
* Music by Devi Sri Prasad is top-notch. All songs are well scored and excellently shot. DSP’s background score is a huge plus for the film.
* Cinematographer Prasad Murella has done an excellent job.
* Even though the Editing by Prawin Pudi is smooth, he would have cut-shot some unnecessary scenes in the first-half.
* The Production values by Haarika and Hassine Creations are brilliant.
Telugumirchi Analysis :
“S/O Satyamurthy” is a romantic comedy film with all the necessary ingredients. The movie is a perfect family-cum-youth entertainer. The film entertains classes as well as masses equally. Dances, Dialogues, Comedy and Picturization makes this a watchable movie.
There are more films that have dramatized relationship with mothers. “S/O Satyamurthy” is one of the few rare films that gives utmost importance to father. “S/O Satyamurthy” is a tribute to every father.
