Nagarjuna’s Mega Debut On TV with ‘Meelo Evaru Koteswarudu’!
As reported earlier, Akkineni Nagarjuna will be hosting the
Telugu version of the popular game show Kaun Banega Krorepati. The show
has now been titled ‘Meelo Evaru Kotesewarudu’(MEK).
After acting in films for more than two and half decades, for the first time ever, Nagarjuna is all set to turn host for a quiz show. Titled as ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’, the programme will be aired on MAA TV in June and the team, which produced Kaun Banega Crorepati, will be producing the show.
The show will hit the TV screens in June 2014. It will be produced by BIG Synergy who also happens to be the producer of the Hindi version of the game show.
In a press conference , Nimmagadda Prasad, Chairman of MAA TV, said, “For the past few years, MAA TV has been ahead of its competitors in terms of delivering quality content and currently, we are the number one General Entertainment Channel. When we decided to start this show, we considered names of nearly 37 candidates and in the end, we chose Nagarjuna. Although he’s one of the board members, I must say that he earned the chance of hosting the show because we feel he represents what the show is all about. We wanted someone to connect with each and every contestant and Nagarjuna is a true human being, who can bring along a human element in to the show.”
Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni,later, took to the centre stage and stole the show with their quick round of quiz. Revealing why he chose to host the show, Nagarjuna said, “I’m here to fulfill the dreams of the common man! This is an effort to make the dreams of the ordinary man come true. They are the reason why I’m at this position in life and this is the least which I can do. I owe it all to them!”
It remains to be seen whether this much-hyped show is able to draw attention to itself and keep the viewers glued to the TV screen.
