Prema Ishq Kaadhal Review

After a continuous set of ‘youth’ films filled with vulgarity and no substance, Prema Ishq Kaadhal comes as a breather. Directed by Pavan Saddineni, this is a tale of three love stories in an urban setting.
- Randy (Harshvardhan Rane) is a musician who runs a coffee shop. Saraya (Vithika) , college girl insists him to give a concert. The platonic relationship turns into a serious one, and the expectations in the relationship leads to hiccups.
- Arun(Harish Varma ) is a playboy RJ and he falls in love with a Software Engineer, Shanti (Srimukhi). In due course, he reforms to a better person. All is well till Shanti enters a situation which would put the relationship at stake.
- Royal Raju (Vishnu) is an assistant director who comes to Hyderabad and falls in love with Sameera (Ritu Varma), a costume designer. They both work together and gradually grow fond of each other. Raju’s expectations from the woman are unusual.
The movie caters well to the youngsters, as it showcases the various aspects of the contemporary love-stories. In such movies, there is lot of scope for good music, and Sravan scores full marks. Music is the biggest asset of the movie.
The whole cast does a decent job but its Vishnu whose performance stands out from the rest. The comedy track by Satyam Rajesh and others also works well. Karthik Ghatttamaneni’s cinematography is decent. All the other technical departments have also done a commendable job.
The drawback of Prema Ishq Kaadhal is its lethargic pace. There are no strong conflicts in all the three threads. The climax however is dealt very sensibly. The raw and realistic culmination is sure to win applause. Pavan Saddineni’s direction skills are good, considering this being his debut. However, some amateurish writing is apparent at times in the proceedings. The movie’s primary clientele is youth, and it gets most of the things right to impress the youngistaan.
