Bilal Amrohi excited debuting with O Teri
Bilal Amrohi, newcomer and grandson of legendary film maker Kamaal
Amrohi, couldn’t have asked for a better debut. His film, O Teri,
starring Pulkit Samrat as another lead, is hitting the theatres today
and the young actor is all thrilled with the prospects. O Teri, directed
by Atul Agnihotri as a gesture to welcome the new talent into the
industry, promises to be an interesting rendition on the Bollywood
marquee, cut away from the routine circus of commercial entertainers.
Salman Khan, brother in law of Agnihotri, has made time to be a part of the film’s promotions, and the film cast is rapt with this sign from the Khan. “Salman Bhai is in Delhi right now. He has asked Pulkit and I to join him there, so he can promote the film with us. Bhai would be accompanying us on various city tours” said Bilal.
Talking about the camaraderie and brotherhood shared in between the Amrohis and the Khans, Bilal stated that Salman is more like a family. Salman’s father Salim was close to Bilal’s granddad Kamal Amrohi and his dad, Tajdar Amrohi.
Bilal took a six month acting course in Los Angeles, staying away from family and friends to purely concentrate on honing his skills –“I deliberately chose a city where I had no family and friends, to learn acting. I was on my own in LA for six months. That helped me to grow up” he shared.
O Teri is a comedy entertainer with a story revolving around two journalists who come across a bid scam and the events that follow. The film stars Sarah-Jane Dias, Sara Loren and Mandira Bedi in prominent roles.
