Salman Khan’s Veer Campaign raises 1 Crore
Veer Campaign, a joint effort by Salman Khan‘s Being Human Foundation in association with Thums Up and CNN – IBN was launched on January 26th to support the ‘differently abled’. The campaign achieved its first success, collecting as much as 1 Crore in fundraising in its first phase, concluding the same last Sunday.
An event was held in Mumbai to this effect, highlighting the need and the milestones this Cause can reach, with a mission to equip the people with disabilities by unleashing their inner potential. With the funds collected, Being Human Foundation was able to empower as many as 1000 persons with special challenges with physical needs, giving them the employment training.
Many celebrities have attended the event, giving an active support to Salman’s life changing initiative. Actor Rahul Roy, who was last seen in the one hit film Aashiqui and as a controversial contestant at ‘Bigg Boss’ house, was present at the event. The other celebrities who made it to the event were actress Urvashi Dholakia, Model Hasleen Kaur, Director Kalpana Lajmi, Dolly Bindra, actress Swara Bhaskar of Raanjhanaa fame, Gulshan Grover, Sudha Chandran and Vishakha Singh, among others.
The event that started off addressing the seriousness of the issue at hand later turned into a light hear-ted affair with some of the contestants from a talent show performing on stage, enthralling the guests. Salman shared some candid moments with his peers and industry friends, extending gratitude for turning up in favor of his movement.
Being Human initiative is slowly picking up the momentum, thanks to the star craze that Salman Khan carries with his many fans all over the World. The foundation has great scope to grow leaps and bounds going by the first milestone achieved.
