Shilpa Shetty speaks about no pregnancy clause
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is about to turn producer with her film Dishkiyaaoon, has multiple roles on her plate. Her most important one, being a mom and taking care of her son. While Shetty had been actively dabbling with her responsibilities as the co owner of IPL Franchise Rajasthan Royals and making films, she opened up about her long due plans to face the camera once again.
While many speculated of Shilpa will ever return from her ever prolonging sabbatical, the actress spoke about her plans and the newer avenues that are opening up for the couple in the meantime.
The actress took her stand on the ‘no pregnancy’ clause that is listed out for Bollywood heroines. “I don’t think there is anything wrong with the clause. At the end of the day, we all are here to work and a lot of money is riding on the actors” she said while speaking at the press conference of Dishkiyaaoon.
Shilpa was non-nonchalant about her take on the time projects take to finish and how that impacts the leading ladies on screen – “Yes, i can understand if the project goes on till four to five years, then its not acceptable. But if you sign a project for a year or so, then i think its fine. I personally feel there is nothing wrong with the no pregnancy clause in the contract” she stated.
With her movie Dishkiyaaoon hitting the theaters on 28th this month, Shilpa shared her anxiety – “There is a lot of pressure on producers. I have to touch Sunny (Deol)’s feet who has managed to produce so many films. So far, the experience has been great and i am still learning a lot of things” she added.
When asked about when she plans to return to the screen, Shilpa replied that it will take at least another two years for her to face the camera.
