Universal star Mohanlal celebrates his 54th birthday today on May 21,
and we at Chitramala wish him ‘A very happy B’day!’ and so does the
Peruchazhi movie team, who thought this as the best occasion to release
the Peruchazhi first look teaser which is a birthday themed one for
Lalettan!
Yes, the pretty literal ‘teaser’ starts off with Mohanlal’s silhouette in a cape standing against the backdrop of the American flag like Superman and then movies in closer to show the actor’s face with his new look.
As if to hint at the mo
vie’s theme, it shows the ‘superhero symbol’ on his chest which is a rather clever twist – a Malayalam ‘Soo’ which later turns out to denote the wish – a ‘super’ birthday!
Peruchazhi is being directed by Arun Vaidyanathan and being produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas.
The plot focuses on the hilarious events surrounding an Indian politician Jagannathan, also known as Peruchazhi, who lands in the US with his two cronies Rayappan and Varki. The film also stars Mukesh in a pivotal role along with the likes of other comedic actors such as Baburaj.
The film, which is mostly set in the States, started shooting in Kollam at a made up American set though the crew has since flown out to the USA for a 30 day shoot, thereby also setting the record for the first Malayalam movie to have such a long shoot there.
It has been reported that as a way of cutting the cost of production, the producers will also be appearing on screen as certain characters.
