Mr. Fraud to release on May 16?
The Mohanlal starrer movie, Mr. Fraud, directed by B. Unnikrishnan
seems to be in the news a lot lately. It was a couple of days ago that
that the theatre owners across the state declared that they will not
screen the movie because of a ban on the director issued by the Film
Exhibit Federation!
The last we heard, talks were in place between the makers of the film and the federation to set things straight and get the movie released somehow; the original release date of May 8 had to be changed though.
Now, sources are reporting that the movie may come out on May 16th!
The motion picture had recently sold its satellite rights to the Mazhavil Manorama channel for a record breaking Rs. 6.5 crores, beating Gangster’s recent sale price of Rs. 5 crores to Kairali TV.
So, will this buzz magnet of a movie grace the big screens come second week of May? Fingers crossed…
The flick, rumoured to be a heist movie of sorts, has Mohanlal playing a cunning fraudster who gets things done the way he wants, even if through cunning and deceitful means. The tagline of the film reads ‘One man, many faces’ – in fact, as promotion, the crew had just released photo cards of Lal’s many avatars which already has the fans talking. The teasers of the movie is getting some attention too.
Mia George and Pallavi Chandran take on the lead female roles while Siddique and Dev Gill among others form the rest of the supporting cast.
It’s being produced by A V Anoop under the banner of his own company A V A Productions.
