AGS Issues Press Statement Regarding ‘ThenaliRaman’

Thenaliraman is the comeback film for veteran actor and comedian Vadivelu in Kollywood. This is especially an important one for him, after being ‘banned’ from acting in the industry, ever since he made some unfortunate and provocative remarks against the DMDK in the 2011 elections.

The actor was practically not hired for any project since and Thenaliraman, in which he plays dual roles, was made in spite of opposition from detractors. Director Yuvaraja Dayalan, who wrote the script too, along with others kept faith in the actor and his talent.

But it seems, fate would just not leave Vadivelu alone and controversy has followed him here too as certain lesser known groups have campaigned to ban the movie on the grounds that it shows King Krishnadevaraya and Thenaliraman in poor light.
To lay rest to these allegations and any future ones in this regard, the production company behind the project, AGS Entertainment, has issued the following press release:
“The Tamil film titled ‘Thenaliraman” produced by us is an Imaginary story conceived on the basis of ‘Thenaliraman’ moral stories etc. This film reflects neither the life history of ‘Thenaliraman” nor that of any person with whom said ‘Thenaliraman” is associated with / lived with. The story of the film is an imaginary one reflecting the life style of people who lived in B.C 15th Century in the back drop of the present happenings and events. All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblances to real persons, living or dead are purely coincidental”.
The movie is a comedy entertainer with Bollywood beauty Meenakshi Dixit in the female lead set to release on April 18th.
