Mammootty Fulfils a Holy Dream
Megastar Mammootty recently fulfilled a dream of religious faith
that had been a long time coming. He finished the holy Umrah by visting
Islamic holy places like Mecca and Medina.
He was accompanied by his wife Sulfath in the pilgrimage. The actor visited the holy centres of Islam along with the family of businessman M.A. Yousuf Ali and Theruvath Khader, in Yousuf’s private plane. They reached Jiddah via the airplane and then travelled to Mecca by road. They reached there Tuesday.
The trip turned interesting, however, when Mammootty was recognised amidst the crowds of pilgrims and the fans among the faithful gathered around him. In the end, he had to be escorted out by security.
Yousuf Ali took this rather personally as Mammootty’s trip was supposed to be kept a secret as it was one of faith and not publicity. The businessman has vowed that if indeed, the leak came form his own staff, he would not ‘spare’ the person or persons involved.
The megastar had often declared that he wanted to make this pilgrimage, and that he wished he had done it a long time ago.
