Rishi Kapoor regrets working with Ranbir
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor opened up lately with PTI about his
feelings to have worked with wife Neetu Singh and son Ranbir Kapoor in
Besharam. The senior actor completely regrets the move and the hasty
decision taken by director Abhinav Kashyap, after his personal high with
Dabangg.
“It was bloody disappointing. Neetu, Ranbir and I are all sorry we did that film. When Abhinav approached us, I thought it would be an entertaining film but it went terribly wrong.
He was over confident, still high on the success of Dabangg. However if he comes up with a better script, maybe I’ll work with him again” said Rishi Kapoor while talking to PTI.
Besharam was a complete disaster, both in terms of content and the box office collections, making the critics and the fans wonder as it why it was even made. To think of that fact that someone like Rishi Kapoor and his whole family agreed to star in it sent in surprises with the analysts who thought it was a dangerous move particularly for Ranbir, who was soaring high with successes like Rockstar, Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Ranbir Kapoor had previously expressed that he wanted to do a trial run starring along with dad Rishi Kapoor through Besharam – the film was produced under Rishi’s own production banner Picture Shuru co-owned also by Anurag Basu.
Ranbir, who is currently shooting for Bombay Velvet directed by Anurag Kashyap will be seen in a completely different role this time. Anushka Sharma stars along with him for the first time on screen with this movie.
