Vaani Kapoor not final for SRK’s Fan
Vaani Kapoor, who made an impressive start with Shudh Desi
Romance and Tamil film Aaha Kalyanam, was considered among the leading
ladies to be cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Fan. However, the film
makers stated that the decision has not yet been made final. Vaani, who
starred as a second lead in Shudh Desi Romance made a commendable entry
into Bollywood. Aaha Kalyanam, a remake of Band Baaja Baarat, saw her
also follow up the debut with a good second film. However, the reports
of whether she will star opposite the Bollywood Badshah are yet to be
confirmed.
“There are reports that Vaani will feature opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Fan, to be produced by Yash Raj Films. The leading actress has not been finalised for Fan” sources said PTI without further details.
The other front runners who are being considered for the role are Parineeti Chopra and Anushka Sharma. Both the actresses are also the busiest stars in Bollywood off late.
Fan, directed by Maneesh Sharma of ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ fame, will see SRK playing an uncanny role – of a fan. Hollywood star make up artist Greg Cannom had been roped in by the production to work on SRK’s look in the film. This will be an exhaustive make up ever sported by Shah Rukh in his career.
The film that will be produced by Aditya Chopra will see shooting commence from May. More details on the other cast and crew in the film to be announced by the film unit shortly.
