Being born as daughter of Kamal Hassan is a pride factor.
Progressing into acting as a daughter of acting legend is not an easy

expectations and pressure, but Shruti is somewhat different. She came
into industry as a singer, music composer and then as actress. Like
father, she is multi talented and getting popular with her acting,

Unnaipol Oruvan/ Eeenadu (2009- Music Composer)
Shruti Hassan was introduced to industry as music director. The album had five songs and three of them were written by Kamal Hassan. Shruti won best introduced music director for 2009 at Edison awards.
Luck (2009- Introduced as actress)
Luck film starring Shruti Hassan, Imran Khan and Sanjay Dutt was released in 2009. Though the movie got average reviews critics appreciated Shruti performance. The movie was directed by Soham Shah.Shruti Hassan also sang a song “Aazma” in this movie.
Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011- First Telugu movie)
Shruti Hassan entry into Telugu movies was grand. The movie Anaganaga O Dheerudu was a huge budget movie but failed to attract audience. The movie starring Siddarth, Lakshmi Manchu and Shruti Hassan was appreciated for its making and graphics but bought huge loss the producers. The movie was directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, son of Raghavendra Rao. The cinema was distributed by Walt Disney. Wrong casting and bad direction lead to the failure of the movie. Shruti Hassan won Filmfare award for best female debut.
7aum Arivu/ 7th Sense (2011- First Tamil movie)
7aum Arivu is Shruti first movie in Tamil. She also won Filmfare for best debut in Tamil. The movie was made with a huge budget but failed to get success at box office. Director Murgadoss came up with an interesting concept but could make the movie interesting. The movie was inspired from English movie Perfume. Shruti played a medical student character in this movie. Suriya performance was top class.
Oh My Friend (2011- Telugu)
With Oh My Friend Shruti continued to give her second flop in Telugu. The movie though had good songs composed by Rahul Raj and good performances from Siddarth, Shruti, Navadeep and Hansika, audience could not connect to the story, treatment and climax. The movie deals with the question whether two friends of opposite sex can always be friends or can take their relationship ahead? Director Venu Sriram could not come with an interesting screenplay and direction. The movie was produced by Dil Raju.
Three (2012- Telugu/ Tamil)
Three movie directed by Aishwarya Dhanush and starring Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in lead roles was above average movie in Tamil but a disaster in Telugu. Dhanush won best actor in Tamil at Filmfare. This movie is considered as best performance from Shruti Hassan till date. The movie had a tragic ending and Shruti just excelled in her character Janani.The song Kolaveri composed by Anirudh Ravichander went viral all over the world.
Gabbar Singh (2012- Telugu)
Gabbar Singh is considered to the rebirth of Shruti Hassan. The movie changed her image from iron leg to golden leg. The movie is considered to industry hit in Telugu after Magadheera and Attarintiki Daredi. The movie also got Pawan Kalyan a super hit after four years. Shruti played a village girl character Bhagyalakshmi. Though her role is short she showcased her acting abilities. The movie was directed by Harish Shankar and Produced by blockbuster producer Bandla Ganesh.
Balupu (2013- Telugu)
With Balupu Shruti continued her success in Telugu. The movie got Ravi Teja a hit after six consecutive flops. Shruti attracted audience with her glamour and humor along with Brahamanandam. She was seen dancing to mass song in the movie and looked different than her previous movies. The movie was directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by PVP. The movie was made with a budget of 15 crore but collected around 22 crores.
D-Day (2013- Hindi)
Though Shruti acted in Hindi movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya in 2013, her role in D-Day got her more recognition. Shruti played a Pakistan prostitute Suraiya in this movie. The movie was a commercial success at the box office and Shruti at this point of career is balancing her profession both with performance oriented roles and glamour roles. The movie was directed by Nikhil Advani.
Yevadu (2014- Telugu)
Yevadu is considered to the first successful movie of Telugu in 2014. Shruti Hassan after getting good name for her performance in flop movie Ramayya Vasthavayya rose to fame with her glamour in Yevadu. The movie starring Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Shruti Hassan, Kajal Agarwal and Amy Jackson is running to full house and collected around 40 crores in its third week. The movie is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju.
